JOB LOCATION: Midlothian, TX

Job Responsibilities:

The Quality Assurance Manager position is responsible for all quality related standard operation procedures, tracking SOPs, internal and external audits in adherence with internal and regulatory standards.

Essential Functions

• Conduct a review of the quality system

• Perform internal and external audits

• Address non-conformities from previous internal and external audits

• Follow-up on and close pending preventive and corrective action requests

• Evaluate, redesign as needed and implement organizational systems

• Design and lead training initiatives surrounding organizational systems and processes for quality

• Upgrade the Company Quality Plan, documents and procedures to bring them to M1003 standards or ISO 9001

• Prepare organization for audits and M1003 certification

• Ensure that documentation and design controls are appropriate for organization

• Administer document control and configuration of management system

• Assist the management team and provide support as necessary

• Maintain design history file

• Nurture a philosophy of a quality culture

• Train personnel in quality matters, protocol and procedures

• Perform inspections from time to time using instruments and gauges

• Supervise two Quality Control Inspectors

• Maintain quality records

• Provide quality based direction to Production staff in all facets of operations; such direction will ensure quality and where applicable ensure the safe, efficient and effective operations of the facility

• Provide temporary assistance with operations supervision in the event of management absence of staff members or workload overburden

• Conduct the affairs of the Company to meet the corporate goals and policies set out by the Company

• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations

• Maintain departmental housekeeping standards

• Exercise the utmost degree of integrity, honesty, good faith, and fidelity to the Company, in dealing with the Company and with its customers, employees, suppliers and other public entities

• Direct the expertise, skills and abilities of the Company’s staff required to conduct affairs of the Company’s Engineering Department and Production facility as successfully as possible

• Train and pass on knowledge acquired to other engineers or technicians employed by the Company in the tasks and disciplines of Quality services

• Provide such other reasonable services as the President of the Company or his appointed deputy might request from time to time

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical field equivalent

• 5 years of work experience in quality design, testing, implementation and maintenance to include audits and experience with ISO9001 certification

• Experience with certification to the M-1003 Quality Assurance standard of the Association of American Railroads (AAR) preferred

• Knowledge and experience with PPAP, (Cpk, FMEA, Gage R&R, PMP)

• Experience in Industrial Manufacturing and Fabrication

Work Environment

• The job operates primarily in an office environment with some work that will require exposure to loud noises, machines, fumes, heat/cold, sparks in the plant facility.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position. Hours of work are primarily Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week with occasional weekend work depending on company internal and external project demands.
